Trelleborg completes acquisition of US aerospace specialist

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) has completed the previously announced purchase of Aero-Plastics Inc, a US supplier of polymer parts for the aerospace industry.

Based in Renton, Washington, Aero-Plastics specialises in precision injection moulding, thermoforming, and machining of 'high-performance' polymer materials, TSS said 11 April.

With 2024 sales of SEK150 million (€13 million), the acquired company delivers “complete solutions that simplify customer supply-chains,” including assembly, engraving and painted coatings.

The acquisition was initially announced 31 Jan and aims to expand the group's "total offering and product portfolio for the aerospace industry,” said TSS president Juergen.

Furthermore, the company is strengthening its position in thermoplastics and the interiors segment, which Bosch said is expected to generate “favourable sales synergies.”

According to TSS, the global aerospace industry is in a “growth phase that is expected to continue for many years.”

Trelleborg Group also acquired Magee Plastics, a company focused on thermoplastics solutions for the aerospace industry, which was finalised in December last year.

TSS is also set to open a greenfield production plant for the aerospace industry in Morocco at the end of 2025.

The transaction was consolidated on 10 April.
