Japanese group's facility in Kentucky produces hose assemblies for automotive industry
Versailles, Kentucky – Yokohama Industries Americas Inc. (YIA) plans to cease all production operations at its US hose-manufacturing plant in Versailles, by mid-2025.
The facility produces automotive hose assemblies, the manufacture of which will be moved to other production sites within YIA’s existing North America network.
The consolidation move will result in 250 job cuts, according to a recent announcement from the Yokohama Rubber Co. subsidiary.
YIA linked the closure decision to a decline in demand for products from the plant, as well as increased production costs.
The North American consolidation will enable YIA to “maintain competitive pricing while continuing to support the automotive industry,” the statement added.
