Tire industry body forecasts continued strong growth within US tire market led by OE sales
Washington – In its latest market forecast, the US Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) has projected total US tire shipments to reach 340.4 million units in 2025.
The February 2025 forecast compares to a record 337.3 million units in 2024, and 332.7 million units in 2019, USTMA noted in a 6 March release.
Compared with 2024, OE shipments for passenger, light truck and truck tires are expected to change by 1.6%, 1.2%, and 2.7% respectively, with a total increase of 0.9 million units.
Replacement passenger, light truck and truck tire shipments are also projected to change by 0.8%, 1.0%, and 0.8% respectively, with a total increase of 2.2 million units.

USTMA prepares an annual factbook and the 2025 Factbook will cover activities during 2024 using actual and estimated 2024 tire shipment data supplied by manufacturers representing about 78% of the US tire industry. Tire data are presented for various categories of products, including passenger, light truck, and truck and bus tires.
