California-based NuFlow, specialises in liners, resins and equipment for small pipe repairs
Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Industrial Solutions (TIS) has completed the previously announced acquisition of US-based pipe repair company NuFlow in a move to expand its pipe repair operations.
Based in Escondido, California, NuFlow produces specialist liners, resins, and equipment for small-diameter pipe repair, Trelleborg reported 28 Feb.
According to a previous release by the Swedish group, NuFlow has manufacturing operations in Ajax, Ontario, and offers repair solutions for lateral and building interior pipes for residential and commercial segments. (ERJ report)
The acquired business generated sales of SEK180 million (€16 million) last year.
The acquisition will improve customer support through an enhanced local presence while adding capabilities for interior pipe repair, said Jean-Paul Mindermann, TIS president earlier this month.
The purchase follows Trelleborg’s acquisition of Finnish pipe repair specialist Boldan in May last year, to strengthen the group's business position in the Nordic region.
Bolt-on acquisitions combined with investments in existing operations are part of the group’s strategy to increase exposure to water infrastructure, Trelleborg stated.
“This industry is set for significant growth as utility providers and local authorities address neglected critical infrastructure in the coming years,” it added.
