Parmeshwaran Iyer joins tire maker from Beiersdorf AG where he most recently served as global supply chain VP
Gurugram, India - Apollo Tyres has appointed Parmeshwaran Iyer as chief supply chain officer to lead the global supply chain team of the company.
In his new position, Iyer will “strategically develop and optimise” the global supply chain operations, said Apollo 18 Feb.
This will involve aligning demand forecasting, production planning, logistics management, and stakeholder coordination to drive “operational excellence” and enhance competitiveness.
Iyer joins Apollo Tyres from German personal care products specialist Beiersdorf AG, having worked across Germany, UAE, Russia and India.
In his last role, he was the global VP digital supply chain, responsible for defining and implementing digitalisation initiatives in supply chain across the group.
Prior to that, he led the global competency team responsible for building capabilities in planning, logistics and customer service areas.
Iyer will be based out of Apollo Tyres’ corporate headquarters in Gurugram, India and will report to Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director.
Speaking upon his appointment, Iyer said that in addition to digitalisation, he would be focusing on the increased usage of environmentally responsible practices within the overall supply chain network of the organisation.
