Private equity firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners completes “transformational" investment in US tire recycler
New York, New York – Tiger Infrastructure Partners has made a “transformational growth investment” in Bolder Industries, a Boulder, Colorado-based recycler of end-of-life tires (ELTs).
In a 10 Feb statement, the New York-based private equity firm said its partnership with Bolder "would enable the buildout" of new facilities – without disclosing the investment amount.
Bolder has commercialised its ELT pyrolysis process at an existing facility in Maryville, Missouri where it produces recovered carbon black (rCB) and tire pyrolysis oil.
The recycler is also building a second facility in Terre Haute, Indiana, to scale up production, and has a third facility under development in Antwerp, Belgium.
The Belgian facility will be located in the NextGen district of the Port of Antwerp, which hosts a range of circular economy projects.
The tire recycler intends to develop additional sites after Terre Haute and Antwerp, according to Tiger Infrastructure.
Bolder is positioned to "capitalise on growing demand for validated, cost-effective circular economy products from end-of-life tires,” said Emil Henry, Tiger Infrastructure CEO & CIO.
The company, claimed Henry, has been "consistently producing high-quality products for some of the most discerning global consumer brands."
According to Bolder founder and CEO Tony Wibbeler, Tiger Infrastructure has a “successful track record in scaling infrastructure platforms like ours.”
“They have a valuable operating partner network and a unique transatlantic footprint that can help us grow our current and planned asset base in both the US and Europe,” Wibbeler added.
The Bolder leader went on to state that there was “robust market demand globally” for the company’s products; noting that an estimated 1 billion ELTs are generated annually.
