Michigan-based TriMas Corp. acquires division with intention to expand presence in Europe, aerospace market
Buehl, Germany – German supplier of antivibration and damping systems GMT Gummi-Metall-Technik has divested its aerospace division to TriMas Corp., a Michigan-based manufacturer of engineered products.
Through carving out the ‘non-core’ aerospace business, GMT will intensify its focus on its core businesses, which includes supply of antivibration systems for railway, construction, marine and defence industries.
TriMas, meanwhile, is expanding its footprint in Europe and is further solidifying its commitment to expanding its aerospace product portfolio, said a 17 Feb report by MCF Corporate Finance which acted as M&A advisor.
According to MCF, GMT Aerospace is a “tier 1” supplier of structural tie-rods, rubber-metal anti-vibration systems and dampening technology for both commercial and military aerospace applications.
The business has been in operation since 2006, MCF said.
TriMas is a diversified manufacturer of engineered products and is active in the consumer market as well as aerospace industry.
