S&P-compiled study offers an independent look at the current and near-future resilience of the UK chemicals industry
London – The Chemical Industries Association has launched a report on the major threats and opportunities facing UK chemical businesses over the coming 10 years, and the action needed by government and industry to secure economic, environmental and social progress.
With the UK government adopting a ‘mission-led’ approach, several strategies are being developed that are key to the business agenda, notably the economic growth and clean energy superpower missions, said the CIA.
“Of particular relevance to our sector are strategies like Invest 2035, which focuses on industrial decarbonisation, circularity and trade among others,” noted the industry body in a release highlighting the report.
“As we continue our efforts to inform and shape these strategic long-term initiatives, we acknowledge the urgent need for action opposite both the threats and opportunities faced by our sector,” it added.
In this context, the CIA has joined forces with S&P Global to take an independent look at the current and near-future resilience of the chemical industry in the UK based on desk research and widespread industry engagement.
