Effective March, leadership structure will include regional SVPs for Europe, North America
Nokia, Finland - Nokian Tyres has extended its management team with the addition of two new senior vice president (SVP) positions to cover Europe and North America.
Effective 1 March, Tommi Alhola will take over the responsibilities of passenger car tires, Central Europe, while Lauri Halme will be responsible for passenger car tires, North America, Nokian reported 4 Feb.
Under the new team, the Finnish tire maker will become a “more customer-centric organisation while strengthening our central functions,” said Paolo Pompei, president and CEO.
The move is intended to bring along growth in “strategic markets” of central Europe and North America, in addition to the Nordics where the company already claims a leading position.
The new management structure will enable “a dedicated focus on these growth regions to achieve our long-term objectives,” Pompei added.
Nokian has made significant investments in new greenfield facilities in both regions in recent years, to deliver a “local-for-local business model.”
To increase synergies, the tire maker will “reorganise all manufacturing facilities under one leadership and combine marketing and communications in one strategic global function."
As of 1 March, Nokian’s management team will include:
Paolo Pompei, President and CEO Niko Haavisto, CFO Tommi Alhola, SVP, passenger car tires, Central Europe Elisa Erkkila, SVP, legal and compliance, general counsel Lauri Halme, SVP, passenger car tires, North America Adrian Kaczmarczyk, SVP, operations Jukka Kasi, SVP, products and innovations Paivi Leskinen, SVP, human resources Manu Salmi, EVP, heavy tires; SVP, manufacturing (interim) Paivi Antola, SVP, communications, investor relations and brand, is leaving Nokian and a search for a replacement in progress.
