Mete Ekin takes over as group president of Bridgestone EMEA, effective 1 Feb
Brussels – Bridgestone has named Mete Ekin as the new group president of Bridgestone EMEA, effective 1 Feb.
He succeeds Laurent Dartoux, who has decided to retire and will remain with the group in an advisory capacity until the end of March, said Bridgestone 27 Jan.
Mete has nearly three decades of experience in the tire industry, having sales teams across the Middle East and Africa before joining the Bridgestone joint global COO office in 2023.
He assumed the role of president of ‘core tire’ Europe at Bridgestone in 2024.
Mete will lead the Bridgestone EMEA management board, reporting directly to Scott Damon, CEO of Bridgestone West, which includes the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Mete's “extensive experience and strategic vision make him the ideal leader to guide Bridgestone EMEA into its next chapter," said Damon upon the appointment.
