ENSO inks deal with i247 for EV tire supply in UK

London – UK tire company ENSO and fleet/tire service provider i247 Group have signed a deal to supply ENSO commercial tires across the UK.

The collaboration will see ENSO’s tires available at over 4,000 fitting centres across England, Wales, and Scotland, including major providers such as Halfords.

The tires will also be available through mobile fitting services, ENSO announced 27 Jan.

The deal, according to the London-based tire company, marks a ‘key step forward’ for Enso to scale up its commercial EV tire business.

The tires are engineered to meet the demands of high-mileage and high-performance EVs, including delivery vans and ride-hail vehicles, ENSO added.

The tires are claimed to provide 10% more EV range as well as enhanced performance and safety compared to "typical replacement tires.”

Independently validated during Transport for London trials, ENSO tires have also been shown to reduce particulate pollution by up to 35%, with emissions testing conducted by specialists at Emissions Analytics.

The partnership “fills a critical gap in the market for EV-specific high-performance tires, helping both drivers and fleet operators adapt to the growing EV transition,” said Gunnlaugur Erlendsson, CEO of ENSO.

The partnership with i247 Group builds on ENSO’s recent commercial momentum, including its three-year strategic partnership with Uber.

ENSO is also expanding its footprint in the US, building a $500 million tire factory set to open in 2027.

In its first phase, the US facility will produce over five million tires annually and create more than 600 jobs.
