Rubber tire export-volume exceedes 9.3 million tonnes, reports General Administration of Customs of China
Beijing – China’s pneumatic tire exports increased 5.6% year-on-year in 2024 to exceed Yuan164 billion, latest data by the General Administration of Customs of China shows.
In terms of volume, total rubber tire exports reached 9.32 million tonnes last year, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, the Chinese authority reported 18 Jan.
New pneumatic tires accounted for a major bulk of the exports, at 8.99 million tonnes, up 4.9% compared to the year before.
Value-wise, new-tire exports saw a 5.5% increase to Yuan158 billion during the year, according to the official figures.
Passenger car tire exports reached 7.95 million tonnes last year, up 5.0% compared to 2023 – valued at Yuan136 billion, 6.3% above the prior-year figure.
Separately, the Chinese customs office reported that China’s imports of rubber materials, including natural and synthetic rubbers and latices, decreased last year.
Compared to 2023, China's imports of rubber declined slightly, coming in at 7.3 million tonnes, the authority reported 14 Jan.
