Company carries out ‘extensive modernisation’ at headquarters in Germany to meet increasing demand
Ostfildern-Kemnat, Germany – German chemicals supplier Wevo-Chemie GmbH has expanded its production capacity to meet growing demand for silicone-based gels, adhesives, gap fillers and potting compounds.
The company has expanded silicone production at its headquarters in Ostfildern, near Stuttgart, to support the electronic and electrotechnical industry, said a Wevo 23 Jan release.
The plant has undergone an “extensive modernisation,” now providing sufficient space for extra machinery, as well as laboratories and future growth.
The expansion will enable Wevo to offer "innovative solutions dedicated to future market requirements from an early stage,” said CEO Dr Frank Naumann.
Wevo currently produces the Wevosil series which includes RTV-2 silicone materials such as gels, adhesives, gap fillers and potting compounds "with a wide range of customisable properties."
In addition to viscosity, pot life and temperature resistance, the products also provide thermal conductivity which is often required by the E&E industry.
The products, said Wevo, meet the thermal challenges arising from "miniaturisation and increasingly high-power densities in the field of electronic components."
The customised systems can also be applied to the automotive industry, power engineering applications and modern household appliances.
Wevo did not provide further details about the capacity expansion.
