Linglong mulls tire plant in Kenya to serve African market

Chairman of Chinese tire group Wang Feng meets with Kenyan president Ruto
Nairobi – China’s Linglong Tire is planning to set up a factory in Kenya to serve the African market, according to Kenyan president William Samoei Ruto.
In a 17 Jan social media post, the Kenyan leader said he met with Linglong chairman Wang Feng in Nairobi to discuss the project.
“Kenya continues to position itself as a premier destination for foreign investment, offering a range of attractive incentives designed to encourage investor confidence,” said the post on X.
The government, said Ruto, “remains committed to enhancing these incentives to ensure a competitive and investor-friendly environment.”
Ruto’s post did not provide further details about the factory, the size of the investment or production capacity.
