China Railway Sixth Bureau Group appointed as construction contractor for project
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Guizhou Tyre has broken ground on a previously announced expansion project to add a new passenger car tire factory at its facilities in Vietnam.
The construction phase of the project, valued at €17 million, will be carried out by Chinese major engineering firm China Railway Sixth Bureau Group, reported the construction group 25 Nov.
The building work, the Chinese major added, is expected to take 300 days.
Guizhou Tyre announced plans for the €207 million new 6-million-unit PCR factory in Vietnam in September. (ERJ report)
The move to build the new unit follows Guizhou Tyre’s completion of the earlier phases of its truck & bus tire facility at the same location: Initially to produce 1.2 million units of all-steel radial tires and the addition of 950,000 ‘high-performance’ TBR tires in the second phase.
