Japanese group to announce its ‘comprehensive measures’ for the business by end of March 2025
Tokyo – Denka Corp. has extended the deadline for a review of its chloroprene rubber (CR) business, which was announced earlier in the year in response to a decline in demand and environmental challenges.
The Japanese group disclosed in May that it was is considering “comprehensive measures” for the business unit and would announce the results of the review by the yearend. (ERJ report)
The evaluation deadline, however, has now been moved to 31 March 2025, reported Denka in its third quarter results last month.
“We continue to engage in discussions focused on the feasibility of this business while paying attention to trends in environmental regulations,” said Denka in a Q&A session.
The rescheduling, it said, was due to the emergence of "additional issues that require due consideration in connection with stakeholder relations."
However, the Tokyo-based group stressed that its position regarding the evaluation remained "substantially unchanged."
