Targets innovation around assessment and mitigation of wear-particle impacts on environment
Geneva, Switzerland – The Tire Industry Project (TIP) has issued an ‘open call for projects (OCP) to research and advance sustainability practices and environmental stewardship within the global tire industry.
The goal is to support “scientific research and evidence-based progress focused on the mitigation of tire wear emissions and their diverse impact,” said the 12 Nov announcement.
“We are reaching out to further broaden TIP’s relationships with researchers and experts in this field,” added Larisa Kryachkova, executive director at TIP.
TIP, therefore, intends to provide financial support to research projects focused on: the assessment and measurement of tire wear emissions; and the development of mitigation measures.
Suggested topics include: field sampling of air, water, soil and, sediment; chemical and particle characterisation; analysis of emissions distribution in the environment; and the development of mitigation measures
