China extends anti-dumping tariffs on NBR from Japan, Korea

Ministry of commerce decision reinstates exiting tariffs, ranging between 12% and 56%
Beijing - China’s ministry of commerce (MOFCOM) has decided to extend anti-dumping measures against the imports of acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) from Japan and Korea.
The tariffs were initially introduced in 2018 upon a petition by Chinese NBR makers Ningbo Shunze Rubber and CNPC affiliate Lanzhou Petrochemical.
The newly extended tariff rates, effective on 9 Nov, are set for a period of five years as follows:
Korea
Kumho Petrochemical – 12%;
LG Chem – 15%
All other Korean companies – 37.3%
Japan
Zeon Corp. – 28.1%
Eneos Materials Corp. – 16%
All other Japanese companies – 56.4%
Nitrile rubber is widely used for its oil resistance and physical properties in applications including, seals, hoses, gaskets, rollers and conveyor belts.
