European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’ Association now represents 14 tire manufacturers with production bases in region
Brussels – The board of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association (ETRMA) has approved Linglong Tire as a full corporate member of the association.
The membership, ETRMA said 4 Nov, takes effect immediately and aims to enhance the ‘collective strength of the industry in Europe’.
Linglong’s participation, said ETRMA president Chris Delaney, will contribute to the association’s efforts towards fostering a “competitive and resilient tire industry in the EU."
Established in 1975 in China, Linglong Tire has a broad portfolio of tires for passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and other speciality applications.
Last September, the Chinese manufacturer launched mass production at its first European factory in Zrenjanin, Serbia.
The plant is slated to produce 12 million units of passenger car tires, 1.6 million units of truck and bus tires as well as 20,000 off-the-road tires once fully operation.
Welcoming the move, Feng Wang, Linglong Tire president and CEO also voiced support for a “competitive industry landscape that benefits all stakeholders.”
“Europe is a crucial market for us, and our membership signifies our long-term commitment to the region," he said.
With Linglong’s addition, ERTMA now represents 14 tire manufacturers with production bases in Europe.
