Beaverton, Michigan – US compounder Laur Silicone has increased its production capacity with the addition of a new twin screw mixer (CTM) from Italian machinery maker Colmec Conical.
The new addition ensures “consistent, uniform mixing of silicone compounds,” with “perfect dispersion and homogeneity of ingredients,” the company announced 17 July.
With the “completely automated process”, Laur Silicone expects to achieve enhanced production efficiency, speed, and “highest product quality standards.”
The silicone compounds specialist’s portfolio of products include general-purpose grades suitable for moulding and extrusion.
Among other products, the compounder also produces specialised high strength, thermally conductive and flame-retardant materials.
“Already making a difference,” the new mixer will position Laur to “better serve” customers and takes its capabilities “to the next level,” stated Josh Watson, president of Laur Silicone.
