Hutchinson opens new automotive parts plant in India

Facility to produce belt drive systems, precision sealing systems and anti-vibration products
Chennai, India – Hutchinson SA has expanded its operations in India with the opening of a new automotive parts production facility in Chennai, southern India.
The facility will produce belt drive systems, precision sealing systems, and anti-vibration solutions, said Hutchinson confirmed in a statement to ERJ.
The plant, according to the French manufacturer, will support the group’s expansion and the development of customer base “in the world's highest growth automotive market.”
“We are eager to further expand our operations in the Indian market through our innovations and sustainable solutions,” Hutchinson further added.
Hutchinson operates an integrated manufacturing facility in Chennai, where it produces a range of rubber and elastomeric products, including anti-vibration systems, fluid management solutions, and sealing systems.
In its statement to ERJ, the French group did not provide further details about the new unit in Chennai.
