Weinheim, Germany – Corteco, the aftermarket unit of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST), is broadening its portfolio in the heavy-duty segment with new products planned for 2024.
The company’s current portfolio for the heavy-duty aftermarket includes radial shaft seals for construction and agricultural machinery, said FST 13 June.
Later this year, Corteco aims to expand its portfolio by adding accumulators, as demand for “premium products in the heavy-duty and aftermarket segments is steadily climbing.”
FST said it will leverage its “series production” capabilities to expand the aftermarket service, especially its experience in the automotive segment.
The automotive knowhow, can be "applied perfectly" to the heavy-duty market, said Dr Christian Dickopf, SVP responsible for Corteco.
Furthermore, FST said it will tap its test field in Weinheim, using over 300 test rigs to test the seals under simulated conditions to ensure "a performance beyond a 300,000-kilometer lifespan."
Seals, it said, are tested for resistance to mechanical stress as well as chemical exposures and UV radiation.
