To be completed during end of 2024 and first quarter of 2025, lay-offs will not impact passenger car tire production
Nokia, Finland - Nokia, Finland – Nokian Heavy Tyres Ltd has resolved to carry out a previously signalled “temporary lay-off” policy in response to decreased demand. (ERJ report)
In a statement 29 May, Nokian said that following ‘change negotiations’ with staff, "all Nokia factory employees” of its Heavy Tyres business will be temporarily laid off.
To impact 160 workers, the layoffs will be for a maximum of 90 days per person and will be completed “during the end of 2024 and first quarter of 2025.”
Nokian said the measure was taken for “productional and financial reasons” with the aim to adapt manufacturing to changes in the market and demand situation.
The change negotiations do not concern the employees of the Nokia factory's passenger car tire production.
