Kocaeli, Turkey – Tire machinery manufacturer Uzer Makina has highlighted progress on several fronts within its first quarter ‘sustainability governance’ report.
Significant achievements, it said, include “operating on 100% solar energy” and the launch of a ‘sapling donation’ initiative to promote reforestation and biodiversity.
Uzer Makina said a key focus for the year ahead is on ‘refreshing’ ethical and humanity codes: ensuring all policies reflect modern standards of corporate responsibility.
Priorities here include adopting ‘integrated management systems’: covering quality, environment, energy, occupational HSE, and alignment with UN sustainable development goals.
Meanwhile, in the field of waste-reduction, Uzer Makina has partnered with an un-named third-party company to collect electronic waste and recycle it responsibly.
In addition, saplings are donated for the entire recycling amount of collected electronic waste, according to the Turkish company.
Furthermore, Uzer Makina is working on a project to manufacture electrical press machinery that can reduce the carbon footprint of industrial processes.
