Acquisition expected to strengthen group's Freudenberg Xpress ‘rapid prototyping’ business
Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg Sealing Technologies (FST) is acquiring German sealings specialist Trygonal Group, in a bid to strengthen its rapid prototyping business unit Freudenberg Xpress.
Based in Sachsenheim-Ochsenbach, Trygonal generates annual sales of over €30 million and has 220 employees at eight locations in Germany, Spain, Austria and in Switzerland.
The acquired company produces “high-quality, customised sealing solutions” in the areas of thermoplastics, elastomers and rubber-metal compounds, said FST 3 May.
The acquisition, added the Weinheim group, is an "important milestone” in FST’s corporate strategy to increase the service business.
The takeover is still subject to antitrust approvals, and transaction details have not been disclosed.
The deal "will expand regional coverage and bring in additional manufacturing capabilities," said Sebastian Gruenschloss, VP global Freudenberg Xpress & service platforms.
Freudenberg Xpress, he noted, will add capacities for CNC-turned products to its existing core business and increase the range of Freudenberg's own materials within its portfolio.
