Fredrik Emilson will take over from Thomas Sorensson who moves to ‘senior advisor’ role
Stockholm – Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro) has named Fredrik Emilson as its next chief executive officer to lead the company as it “enters a new phase” of growth.
Effective 5 Feb 2024, Emilson will replace current CEO Thomas Sorensson, who is moving to a role as senior advisor, the tire pyrolysis company announced 12 Dec.
"With the collaboration with Antin Infrastructure Partners in place, Enviro takes a new step in its development, which requires a new type of leadership,” explained Enviro chairman Alf Blomqvist.
As an “experienced and qualified leader”, Emilson will provide the Swedish company with “very good conditions during its next phase,” Blomqvist added.
In March, Enviro entered a 'joint venture' agreement with equity firm Antin Infrastructure Partners to create “the world’s first large-scale tire recycling group”. (ERJ report)
Using Enviro’s tire pyrolysis technology and supported by Michelin off-take agreements, the 'joint venture' will initially be financed by Antin, which is focused on infrastructure investment.
Emilson joins Enviro from Swedish metal power manufacturer Hoganas AB, where he served as CEO from 2017, having previously managed its European and Asian operations.
Enviro's in-coming CEO has also previously worked with Trelleborg Group, where he gained a experience in the rubber industry.
He has also worked as a management consultant within E&Y with a main focus on project management and business development.
In particular, he has “extensive experience” in industrialisation and sustainability, especially in the automotive industry, added Enviro's statement.
"Enviro are among the companies that have a real opportunity to make a significant difference and contribute positively to the ongoing climate-transition,” Emilson said in the release.
