Investment builds on the progress of facility in Leszno, inaugurated in 2017
Epe, The Netherlands - VMI has opened three new production assembly halls at its site in Leszno, Poland, the tire & rubber machinery maker has announced.
The expansion will bring the company’s total available production floorspace in Poland to almost 30,000 square metres, said VMI, part of Dutch technology group TKH.
According to VMI’s 16 Feb statement, the capacity addition follows years of high growth in its core business in the tire and pharmaceutical industries.
The Polish project, it noted, augments the company’s global manufacturing footprint, which also includes facilities in The Netherlands and China.
“The investment will build on the success of the facility in Leszno which was inaugurated in 2017,” continued the company’s statement.
Workforce numbers there are set to grow to over 200 this year, said VMI, adding that the new buildings use advanced LED lighting and solar power systems for enhanced sustainability.
“This expansion is the next important step for VMI”, according to Harm Voortman, chief executive officer of the VMI Group.
“By significantly increasing capacity in Poland, we enhance our ability to meet
the needs of our customers and strengthen our global competitiveness,” said Voortman.
