Company unveils five-year project to build 400ktpa olefinic polymers facility in Yingkou City
Shanghai, China – Liaoning Dingjide Petrochemical Co. Ltd is to invest Yuan9.868 billion (around €1,350 million) in the construction of a POE [polyolefin elastomers] plant in Yingkou City, China, the company announced 27 Dec 2022.
The ‘POE high-end new material’ project is to be carried out over five years, with an initial investment in the first phase of Yuan2.6 billion, said Liaoning Dingjide's statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE).
The total construction scale was listed as including: a 400,000 tons/year POE combined unit; a 300,000 tons/year α-olefin unit; and a 250,000 tons/year ‘carbonate’ plant.
The project is planned to be built in Yingkou City’s Xianrendao economic and technological development zone, the statement to the SSE continued.
Phase I envisages the construction of a 200,000 tons/year POE complex with 300,000 tons/year α-olefin unit, to be followed by a 200,000-ton/year POE complex and 250,000-ton/year carbonate plant in phase II.
According to Liaoning Dingjide, the new capacity will help meet growing demand for domestic high-end polyolefins in a range of applications while also leveraging opportunities around “environmental protection upgrading, industrial integration and localisation substitution.”
