A “leading US oil company” carried out tests on waste tire-driven oil
Stockholm – Scandinavian Enviro Systems has advanced waste tire pyrolysis efforts following the successful completion of tests on its recovered oil by a “leading US oil company”.
The Swedish end-of-life tire (ELT) recycler said it received an order for pyrolysis oil from a subsidiary of the unnamed US oil company in February this year.
The oil was delivered in June after receiving an approval in accordance with the EU REACH standards – a condition for a final deal – said an Enviro statement 15 Nov.
The tests, Enviro said, aimed to determine how suitable the pyrolysis oil is for the production of various biofuels.
“This information is a very important confirmation not only of the quality of our pyrolysis oil, but also of the key role that our recovered oil could play from a sustainability perspective,” said Thomas Soerensson, CEO.
Enviro’s recovered pyrolysis oil was previously certified under the global ISCC EU sustainability certification system and approved in accordance with the EU REACH directive.
