Contracts to cover “more than a dozen customers” in automotive, healthcare and consumer markets
Shanghai, China – Elkem Silicones expects to renew dozens of deals with customers from the automotive, healthcare and consumer industries during the ongoing China International Import Expo, being held 5-10 Nov in Shanghai.
The Sinochem-owned Norwegian supplier said it anticipated renewals on annual contracts for 2023, with the value totalling more than Yuan1.3 billion (€180 million) and volume growing 30% compared to 2022.
During the show, said Elkem, silicone products will be displayed under a ‘zero-carbon’ theme, targeting segments such as life science, consumer goods and smart cities.
Amongst other products, Elkem will promote its Silbione Biomedical medical grade silicones for long term implant applications.
Elkem’s Bluesil LSR 9350 series will also be on display during the show, for “streamlined production and improved efficiency.”
This, Elkem said, is because the products in the range do not require secondary vulcanisation, and therefore reduce the energy and carbon emissions.
The Oslo-based group also intends to officially launch the China Sinochem e-commerce platform for Elkem Silicones during the event.
“This is the fifth time we have attended the CIIE,” Larry Zhang, SVP Elkem Silicones said.
“Going forward, Elkem will invest more in China and expand its production capacity to provide advanced silicone technologies and products to customers in China and other parts of Asia Pacific," he added.
