Munich, Germany – Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has signed an agreement to acquire NBHX Trim Europe from Ningbo Lawrence Automotive Interiors Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of Ningbo Huaxiang Electronic Co., Ltd. (NBHX).
The transaction strengthens Mutares’ Automotive & Mobility segment and will complement the Matikon Group within Amaneos as an add-on acquisition, Mutares announced 26 Feb.
The transaction, it noted, is subject to customary approvals, particularly by the Chinese government, the board of NBHX, and the shareholders of NBHX, as well as merger control clearance.
The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, according to private equity firm Mutares.
NBHX Trim Europe is a major European supplier of decorative surfaces for premium automotive interiors from materials, including aluminum, wood, leather, and polymers.
Based in Bruchsal, Germany and with additional production facilities in Rolem, Romania and Abergavenny, UK, the 2,000-employee group generated sales of around €200 million in 2024.
“This add-on acquisition is a significant step in expanding our global footprint in interior applications for the global automotive industry,” said Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares.
