Italian tire maker awards nine suppliers for 'high quality, innovation and sustainability'
Milan, Italy – Pirelli has awarded nine of its top suppliers in recognition of their sustainable, high-quality and innovative services.
The Italian tire maker said the nine were chosen from among 15,000 suppliers for providing services that supported Pirelli in remaining competitive.
During the award ceremony, held earlier this month, French supplier of bio-chemical products DRT was recognised with the sustainability award, while German chemicals company Evonik won the top title for the supply of high quality silica.
Synthetic rubber manufacturer Asahi Kasei and digital transformation partner Amazon Web Service won the top supplier award in innovation, while Chinese metallic reinforcement supplier Jiangsu Xingda Steel Tyre Cord was recognised for its performance.
Turkish reinforcement materials supplier Korda, logistics partner DHL, and service suppliers Fortek and DCS Multiserve were also recognised for their 'top service level'.
“The sharing of our company values with our suppliers is a key step towards achieving the goals we have set, in particular those linked to sustainability and innovation,” said Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice chairman and CEO of Pirelli.
The awarded supplier, he went on to say, have become “important partners” for Pirelli’s activities throughout the world.
During the ceremony, attended by 150 of the group’s “preferred suppliers”, Pirelli renewed its commitment to advance the use of materials derived from renewable and recycled sources.
