Company officially launches Ecopoint3 process to deliver ‘right rubber balance’
Toronto, Ontario – Sailun Tire Group has officially launched its wet-mixing rubber technology, which it claims will “revolutionise” the tire industry.
Utilising liquid phase mixing, EcoPoint3 technology has "matched or exceeded" tire performance across the three key functional attributes of rolling resistance, wear resistance and wet grip, Sailun said 7 April.
“[This] will change the way that tires are manufactured,” it added.
The technology allows rubber compounding materials to be mixed “fully uniformly” under continuous liquid phase conditions and provides a consistent rubber compound mix.
Regardless of the type of tire – e.g. high performance, touring, all-season, winter – the technology is claimed to be able adapt to deliver “the right rubber balance for exceptional performance.”
Sailun said the breakthrough came from “years of painstaking research and development” on high-performance rubber materials.
The Chinese tire maker expects the technology to bring the organisation into “a new level of international competitiveness.”
"EcoPoint3 is a game changer for the tire industry both for the quality of tires it will produce but also in the way tires are made moving forward,” said Ron Dolan – president, Sailun Tire Americas.
The technology will debut in the upcoming lineup of Sailun's Erange EV, a new flagship tire line specifically designed for electric vehicles.
In February, Sailun subsidiary Maxam Tire announced that it, too, was using the wet-mixing technology at its new solid tire manufacturing facility in Vietnam.
