Omnova Solutions raises $83,000 for Katrina relief
Fairlawn, Ohio -- Employees of Omnova Solutions Inc. raised $41 500 company-wide to support the American Red Cross' Relief Fund for Hurricane Katrina, the company announced Sept. 27. The figure was matched by the Omnova Solutions Foundation, bringing the total to $83 000.
"I'm very proud of this outpouring of support which is tremendous for a company our size," said Kevin McMullen, the firm's chairman and ceo. "It really shows what a caring group of people we have at OMNOVA Solutions."
The company, which employs about 1800, has plants in two of the affected states -- Mississippi and Alabama -- although the facilities were far enough inland to avoid damage. All domestic sites, including plants and offices, participated in the fundraising efforts, Omnova Solutions said.
