Danish company to build major tyre recycling unit at Marl, Germany
Düsseldorf, Germany - The Danish enterprise Genan, which claims to be a leading player in industrial tyre recycling, is planning to invest Euro 42 million in a modern tyre granulating and recycling plant at Dorsten/Marl in North-Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Sixty jobs will be created in a first move.
The plant is the third to be built by Genan and will have capacity for 65 000 tonnes per year, roughly 10 percent of the annual arisings in Germany and an environmental form of disposal of tyres for the region. The plant permits reuse of the resources in form of high-quality rubber powder and granulate.
With two existing recycling plants in Denmark (Viborg) and Germany (Berlin), that have a total capacity of 100 000 tonnes per year, Genan claims to be the world's leading company for the recycling of scrap tyres.
