Conti aims to double sales of Auto Systems in China
Frankfurt, Germany -- By the year 2010, the Continental Division Automotive Systems intends to generate at least 50 percent of its new sales through agreements with non-European automobile manufacturers. Sales in Asia in particular are to be doubled, said the company.
Continental Automotive Systems is therefore intensifying its presence in Asia to strengthen its position in this growth market. The company opened its new Asian headquarters on 21 Nov, 2005 in Shanghai, China. In addition, a new technology centre will be built in Yokohama, Japan, creating 250 new engineer positions.
Presently, Continental Automotive Systems generates € 500 million in sales annually in the Asian region with all well-known Asian automobile manufacturers. By 2010, we want to double this figure to a billion euros,†said Jay Kunkel, President of the Asia Region at Continental Automotive Systems.
