Survey of global tyre markets published

Dublin -- Research and Markets, the information broker, has started selling the report by Aroq titled, "Global market review of tyres - forecasts to 2011 3rd edition". This survey was first published in July 2005.

In the introduction to the report, Aroq says, "We estimate that the global tyre market for passenger cars, light, medium and heavy duty truck applications accounted for nearly 1.2 billion tyres sold in 2004, of which 857 million (72%) were replacement tyres. Although the world tyre market is essentially a replacement market in terms of volume and value, and the vehicle makers buy only one-quarter of road tyres, this segment of the market is significant as it drives technical development and significantly influences the aftermarket."
