Rubber prices creep up to $2.40/kg, with no respite in sight
Tokyo -Â Prices of natural rubber on the world's markets are rising sharply once more. In Singapore, prices have risen to over $2.23 / kg for RSS3, with the trend strongly upwards. On Singapore's Sicom exchange, RSS3 for immediate delivery is priced around $2.24/kg, but the 12-month price is $2.42/kg. The story in RSS1 is similar, with short deliveries priced around Sing$ 3.48, but 12-month prices closer to Sing$3.77.
In India the price has once more broken the Rs 100/kg price, while prices of the benchmark 6-month futures on Tokyo's Tocom exchange hit a 6-month high of ¥290.6/kg ($2.38) as the Yen fell against other currencies.
