Relocation project to support “substantial growth” in infrastructure and construction market
Newnan, Georgia – Semperit Group is set to open a manufacturing facility for rubber gaskets in the US, which will also serve as the Austrian polymer group’s new North America headquarters.
Scheduled for 1 Nov, the move will see Semperit relocating its HQ facility from Stone Mountain, Georgia, to a new 150,000-square-foot unit in Newnan, said its 15 June statement.
The $9-million (€7.4-million) facility will create 70 jobs and be powered 100% by renewable energy sources, noted Semperit.
Operations will include ‘state-of-the-art’ production lines for building façade seals, window gaskets, road and bridge expansion joints and other sealing components.
The project will also expand the group’s warehousing and distribution capabilities for its sealant and conveyor belting portfolio, the company stated.
Semperit said the new plant will support “substantial growth” of infrastructure and construction market in North America.
The move “will also allow for improved operating efficiencies, increased supply chain and logistics management,” said Irene Coughlin, Semperit’s managing director, Americas.
