Kobe Steel establishes new HQ unit in Europe
The new unit, it said, has grown out of an existing company, Kobelco Machinery Europe GmbH (KME), which was established in 2012 as a base for Kobe Steel’s Machinery Business in Europe.
Based in Munich, Germany, KME has mainly been responsible for marketing non-standard compressors and tire and rubber machinery.
KEU is to continue the business activities of KME, while strengthening the management of Kobe Steel’s operations in Europe, starting with corporate governance and compliance.
With a remit to further promote coordination among the Kobe Steel companies in the region, KEU will also be responsible for the group’s locations in the Middle East.
The Japanese group has 10 locations in five countries in Europe and in recent years, has been accelerating business development in the region.
