Italian acquisition to expand Trelleborg farm tires services

Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Wheel Systems has acquired Italian distributor and service provider of farms tires Provana Solutions srl and Provana Quality Center srl.

Based in Izano, northern Italy, Provana offers tires and complete wheels to tractor dealers and farmers in the country, Trelleborg announced 18 March.

Provana Quality Center provides tire testing solutions to agricultural machinery OEMs.

“Using the foundation provided by the company, we can extend the concept for tire services in the aftermarket for agricultural tires in Europe,” said Paolo Pompei, president of Trelleborg Wheel Systems.

Trelleborg’s Interfit business already distributes and offers service within the industrial tires segment.

The acquisition, Pompei went on to say, will broaden the company’s service offering in the aftermarket in agricultural tires.

Owned by the Provana family, Provana Solutions srl and Provana Quality Center srl posted total sales of SEK58 million (€5.5 million) in 2018.

The bolt-on acquisitions, Trelleborg said, are part of the company's strategy to strengthen its positions in "attractive market segments."
