Nizhnekamsk, Russia – Danish catalysis company Haldor Topsoe is providing the technology for PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim’s new methanol production plant in Kazan, Tatarstan.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim is currently building a 500-kilotonne-per-annum (ktpa) methanol plant in the southwestern Russian region, the petrochemicals supplier announced 14 Jan.
The company mainly uses methanol for the production of formaldehyde, a key raw material for its production of isoprene rubber.
The new plant, said Nizhnekamskneftekhim, is expected to increase efficiency of the company and reduce the cost of production of isoprene rubber.
