Ahmedabad, India – Taiwanese tire-maker Maxxis has signed the lease for a 35-acre piece of land in Gujarat, India, where it will set up its most recent tire plant.
According to a news report by ET Autos, India’s Economic Times’ automotive website, Maxxis chairman signed the lease during a recent visit to India and has been promised ‘state support’ for the Sanand-based project.
The project, said the report, involves an investment of over Rs 2500 crore (€340 million) and is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs.
Maxxis is expected to complete the construction and start production at the plant by early 2017.
