Houston, Texas – US Zinc has started to expand production at its zinc oxide plant in Changshu, China, The project is slated for completion by the first quarter of 2016, according to a 20 May company release.
The expansion, which includes facility additionsnew equipment and extra recruitment, will increase zinc oxide production by 9,000tonnes per year, said the US Zinc announcement.
“As the largest zinc oxide producer in the world, we continually expand and innovate to remain at the forefront of the zinc market,” said US Zinc president Rodrigo Daud.
The plant, located in Changshu approximately 60 miles northwest of Shanghai, will continue to serve the domestic demand in China for zinc oxide.
US Zinc’s commercial vice president Tracy Baugh described the project as a move that kept the company “one step ahead of the demands of our customers”.
