Entire 17–22″ car and SUV tire production line offered for sale after facility’s closure
Fulda, Germany – Machinery and equipment from the now-defunct Goodyear car and SUV tire production plant in Fulda are being offered for sale by private treaty.
In a recent statement, asset deposition specialist Maynards said the auction will take place 31 Oct in conjunction with AllSurplus Auctions.
The online event will include 'the complete tire?making assets', including mixing, extrusion, apexing, bead winding, curing, testing, plus boilers, silos, material handling and general plant infrastructure.
The listing follows Goodyear’s decision to shut down the Fulda factory, as part of a broader restructuring of its German operations in 2024.
At the time, the tire maker cited the “significant decline in demand, rising costs, and growing competition from low-cost Asian imports.”
The closure at Fulda and cuts in at Goodyear’s site in Hanau led to 1,171 job losses, according to a recent European Commission report.
