Investigation covers butadiene rubber of 1500 series from European Union, Japan, Korea RP, Russia and Thailand
New Delhi – India has launched an anti-dumping investigation into the imports of emulsion styrene butadiene rubber from the EU, Japan, Korea, Russia and Thailand.
The probe, initiated upon a petition by Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) will cover imports of ESBR 1500 series, said a 29 March announcement by the India's directorate general of trade remedies (DGTR).
Reliance, it stated, has alleged that material injury and threat of material injury is being caused due to the dumped imports of the subject goods from the subject countries.
RIL has also submitted that there “no significant differences” in the product it manufactures locally and the imported materials from the subject countries.
The applicant had proposed 1 Oct 2023 - 30 Sept 2024 as the period of investigation, said DGTR, while adding that its probe will cover from 2021 through to 2024.
ESBR 1500 is widely used to manufacture tires, conveyer belts, shoe soles, v-belts and moulded rubber goods.
