Hankook names new co-CEOs as Lee Soo-il resigns
Jongseon Ahn to focus on R&D, manufacturing while Sanghoon Lee will lead commercial operations
Seoul – Hankook Tire & Technology has introduced two co-CEOs to lead the company following a decision by chief executive Lee Soo-il to step down from his duties for ‘personal reasons’.
Jongseon Ahn, formerly and head of management innovation division, and Lee Sang Hoon, head of marketing, took over the management of the Korean tire maker following a 26 March AGM.
The “dual leadership” marks a strategic change for Hankook, as the company aims to enhance management efficiency and strategic decision-making, said the tire maker 27 March.
Hankook said the new structure will strengthen innovative management to expand presence in the premium market while enhancing brand value.
In his new role, Jongseon Ahn will lead global innovation, R&D, procurement, production, and quality at Hankook.
Meanwhile, Sanghoon Lee, who previously served in leadership positions in China and Europe, will oversee global sales, and spearhead marketing initiatives to strengthen brand positioning.
