Hutchinson rolls out smart belt drive app

Paris – Hutchinson has release of the ‘smart belt drive’ app, which is designed to enhance the performance and longevity of belt drive systems.

Developed by in-house by Hutchinson experts, the app is said to offer “a comprehensive diagnosis to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and an extended service life for your transmission.”

Features include the capability to measure rotary speeds of pulleys, the frequency and tension of belts, as well as system geometry and alignment.  

By analysing this data, the app helps to: identify potential problems before they escalate and ensure systems runs smoothly, said Hutchinson.

The technology, it said, can also help users to schedule and execute maintenance tasks and  track and optimise energy usage and so reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
