Demand for testing of fluorochemcial substancess has increased by more than 30% globally...
Cologne, Germany – TUV Rheinland is expanding its testing capacity worldwide to meet the growing global demand for testing services related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
The move is in response to an increase of over 30% year-on-year in demand, according to a 20 March statement from the German firm.
PFAS, a group of more than 10,000 known substances, are currently being considered for potential regulatory restrictions in many countries.
Proposed measures, said TUV, pose new challenges for manufacturers and retailers, that might need to monitor PFAS-content witih products.
Through its services, TUV said it can help companies prepare for changes in legislation by providing accurate chemical analysis.
"This enables companies to adapt to changes in the legal situation at an early stage, establish responsible action,” said TUV expert Steffen Tuemptner.
