Infiniteria joint venture facility in Uddevalla 'ready for installation of production equipment'
Uddevalla, Sweden – The Infiniteria JV between Scandinavian Enviro Systems (Enviro), Antin's NextGen Fund and Michelin has advanced its end-of-life tire (ELT) pyrolysis plant in Uddevalla, Enviro has reported.
Work is "progressing well in the civil and buildings, ready for installation of production equipment," said technology provider Enviro, which is also responsible for project management and coordination.
Construction work on the commercial-scale plant began in February, focusing on external construction and pipe rack installation, continued the 19 March update.
Crane installation for lifting production equipment, including the reactor, is expected to begin at the turn of March-April, the statement added.
The facility has a design-capacity to recycle 34.5 kilotonnes per annum of waste tires, equal to 40% of the annual ELT arisings in Sweden.
Enviro says it has already signed long-term binding agreements for the delivery of recovered carbon black and oil from the plant valued at SEK2 billion (€170 million).
Formed in March 2023, the Infiniteria JV plans to construct ELT recycling units across Europe with a total processing capacity of 1 million tonnes by 2030.
